Selling Outer Banks Art Online Since 2003.
The Shop Outer Banks website started as an online store for a wide variety of products designed by local graphic designer Susan Lawrence. These included Outer Banks Travel Posters and other OBX-related graphic designs, printed on fine art Giclee prints, as well as on pillows, tote bags, t-shirts, mugs, etc.
In 2023 we expanded the site to become an online marketplace with multiple vendors, where visitors and locals alike can find a wide range of authentic local Outer Banks art and gifts online, year-round.
We’re honored to serve as an online home to a variety of local artists and businesses, providing a platform to showcase their unique creations and products to a wider audience.
The online mall will be a one-stop shop for all things Outer Banks, providing customers with a unique shopping experience. With a wide range of products from a variety of local businesses and artists, there’s something for everyone.

Hello there! I am so excited you’ve stopped by. I’m guessing you love the Outer Banks and all things serene, beautiful, and sacred on this beautiful earth. Me too!
That’s why my husband and I decided to pack everything up on a whim and move to Kill Devil Hills more than 20 years ago. We were living and working the typical rat race inside the DC beltway. Then we moved to the beach and found paradise!
I remember saying to him at the time that this little island felt like a good place for me to heal. Jump some years forward we’ve got three beautiful children and we are loving watching them grow up on the OBX. Then the news: I had stage 3 breast cancer. Four months of “dose-dense” chemotherapy, 48 daily rounds of radiation, 6 surgeries (one lasting 14 hours!), and 10 years later – I am alive and well!
And let me tell you, during these ten years, I have truly learned that the magic that is the Outer Banks of North Carolina is REAL. Some special potion flows through our air and saltwater. My family was lifted by our community. Strangers and friends prepared our meals, watched our children, and sent non-stop well-wishes and inspiration. It was truly a wonderous place to heal.
In my new life, I move a lot more slowly than before. But I appreciate every minute of every day, every person I am fortunate to know, and every grain of sand on the vast and beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks, my forever home. <3

You can be an online vendor on Shop Outer Banks if you create your own art or products here locally in the Outer Banks, or if you make art or products that specifically relate to the Outer Banks.
We understand the importance of online sales and marketing in today’s economy, and that not every small business has the capability to run its own online store. With the launch of the online mall, the hope is to drive more traffic to these local businesses and artists in a cooperative way.
